My name is Katie Adkins, and I’ll soon be taking over Sue’s role as CEO of Fair Shares.
Sue has left big boots to fill! The excellent job she has done in ensuring Fair Shares has grown in strength and stability is evident. Despite the unprecedented challenges of COVID, she has led incredible support for and with the local community.
I already feel so welcomed by everyone at Fair Shares – I’m in capable hands!
I’m new to Gloucestershire, and was instantly taken by the sound of Fair Shares when reading about the job vacancy. It felt comfortingly familiar- a charity with innovative methods of working with the community, and of obvious value to everyone involved.
I have worked in the charity sector for 13 years. I have been CEO of East London community arts and education charity Stitches in Time for 8 years. Stitches in Time uses the arts and textiles as a tool for engagement and community development, working with local people to together develop their skills and the local community. There are enough similarities for me to feel comfortable at Fair Shares, and enough differences for it to be an exciting new challenge.
I’m thrilled to be involved with this unique organisation in a new location, excited to meet everyone that makes up Fair Shares, and look forward to being part of its future development.
