Fair Shares Turns 25!

We held a grand celebration at The Friendship Cafe celebrating 25 years of Fair Shares.

It was an incredible event; really heart-warming and joyous and just filled with an incredibly positive, uplifting spirit. We had stalls from our wood workshop, art group, and Stroud timebank showing their history and activities as well as a speech from Martin Simon, the founder of Fair Shares.

We also premiered a video featuring participants sharing what they most enjoy about Fair Shares, as well as showing some older videos of past projects like Life Histories. It was wonderful to see how many people turned out for the event, and also to hear some of the stories being shared on the tables.

Stroud, at a later date, also had their own small birthday party. APT were kind enough to loan their space to us, so it was a nice get together with snacks and reminiscing over participants and projects past and present. There was even some reconnecting with old friends, and planning some future get togethers.

Thanks to all the participants – past and present, staff – past and present, trustees – past and present and friends who came along and shared your stories and your contributions in creating Fair Shares and continuing to shape it and build it and making it flourish together.
