The Willow Trust provide a wonderful opportunity for a day on one of their boats travelling up and down the Gloucester Canal. On a beautiful late September day, 10 members of Tewkesbury Men’s group travelled to Saul Junction for a day lazing on a river boat – or should that be a canal boat. The boats are fully equipped with a wide range of facilities for people with disabilities, and you even get a chance to drive it – steering can be a bit tricky, zig zaging across the river is not recommended! The hosts on board provide teas/coffees/ squash during the trip and we disembarked ( just like they do on the cruise liners ) for our lunch, returning back to Saul by 3pm.
It was a fabulous day out. Everyone enjoyed it so much we’ll be planning another trip next year.
