Baking at Hobbs

14th March 2024
The group is standing around a large white table in the middle of the room. They're listening as they're told what recipes they will be making.
Last Wednesday Gloucestershire Gateway Trust arranged for a few people from their community partners to spend the day at Hobbs House Bakery cookery school.

A few of our participants – Mary, Jay, and Sarah – went along to learn how to reuse excess bread in other dishes.

They were welcomed with tea, coffee, and some croissants whereby Jane and Anna – our hosts at Hobbs – had everyone introduce themselves and then explained the plan for the day. The group would split up into pairs or triplets and tackle recipes both sweet and savoury before coming together at the end to enjoy the fruits of their labours together.

We all had a wonderful time and had our eyes opened as to the various ways we can incorporate bread into our cooking. A big thank you to both GGT and Hobbs House!
