Time 2 Change Cookery Course

5th October 2017

We have funding to work with prisoners who are being released to Gloucester and for local people on community orders.

The aim is to encourage offenders to get involved with Fair Shares and our positive projects. To do this we’ve been developing links with other agencies to create referral pathways for those with an offending history. Part of this work involved teaming up with The Wiggly Worm and Nelson Trust on a cookery challenge. The women on the course developed their cooking skills as well as also building confidence, self-esteem and work readiness. The group created a fine dining experience for up to 20 guests and it was a huge success.

We hope to be able to offer this course again soon and Lucia is looking at ways this may happen.

I have been linking with Vicky at the Nelson Trust and I have been meeting with women that are being released to the Gloucester area and working with them on how they may like to join Fair Shares on release. I hope to be able to meet our first lady next month and will let you know how she gets involved with us.
