Another Year of Fun at the Seaside

2017 has gone by in a flash, and it’s once again time for the annual Bournemouth holiday.

September has rolled around and so it’s time for the annual Fair Shares holiday to Bournemouth. This time over 32 of us, staff and participants alike, travelling via minibus to enjoy four days by the sea. This year was extra special as it happens to be the 10th year of doing this, and we were also joined by our Danish friends and members of our Stroud time bank.

There were walks along the beach, swimming in the sea (for a few brave souls), crazy golf, strolling through the gardens, steam train journeys, castles, piers, delicious food, shopping and lots of games of pool. All of this was of course smothered in our own special flavour of mutual support and it was really touching to see how people were looking out for each other and making sure everyone was happy and having a great time. For some people it’s been their first holiday in years and simply couldn’t have done it without the generous spirit of others in the group.

It was a perfect opportunity for participants from the different time banks to come together and get to know each other socially.
